West Nattrass Guesthouse, Alston.

West Nattrass is depicted on maps from as early as 1858 and the former toll house serving the Turnpike road stood just 50 meters away. Its foundations can still be found. With walls up to 3 feet thick our renovated barn is ruggedly constructed.

Outbuildings are available for cyclists & walkers for storage and drying out. The Pennine Way long distance footpath & Coast to Coast cycle route are close by.

Our guest house is the ideal stopping off point for rest & relaxation & to explore the local area. Do not miss visiting the Lake District or the Roman wall which are both a short distance away.

Our tea rooms boast a fine selection of cheesecakes. Our delicatessen includes many other homemade specialities, soups, bread, organic tea, coffee, fruit juices, local spring water ...etc. We have plans to open a Bistro for evening meals this year and in 2009/10 our en suite family room for 4/5 will become available.

Please see our contacts page for our Room Rates.

A warm welcome awaits you at our cosy former barn set in the tranquil North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Children & pets are welcome and we have full disabled access. All rooms are en suite, including English or Continental breakfast. We serve lunch & afternoon tea in our tea room, and evening dinner to both guests and visitors by prior arrangement. We have a separate guest lounge with TV, a large garden with play area for children.  Off road parking is available.
